|7 1/4 inch gauge "Romulus" 0-4-0T with tender - stock code 7522|
A Romulus 0-4-0 with sit in tender, recently arrived with us in part exchange for a larger narrow gauge locomotive. A well though out, nicely built engine which has recently been repainted to a high standard.
Steel boiler with expanded tubes, 90psi working pressure, feed by twin injectors. Twin Ramsbottom type safety valves, water gauge with protector and chevron backing plate. Shutoff valve on fountain. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Hackworth valve gear, twin mechanical lubricators, steam operated drain cocks. Wheel are machined from Roger Marsh's "Minimum Gauge Railways" castings, a nice touch.
The engine has been well maintained, it's in good order and steams well. Until recently running at an extensive private railway with distinct Marsh leanings in the engine shed, a couple of Tinkerbells and a fine quarry Hunslet housed on adjacent lines.
