A 1 1/2 inch scale Allchin, built in the 1990s - it's come to us from the late builder's son. The builder was a time-served turner, who spent his working life on a lathe at a government establishment near Oxford - workmanship is good, if somewhat obscured by thirty years of dust and a not terribly good paint job in the first place. Professionally made boiler by Chambers is copper, silver soldered throughout - the engine has been run on air in the past but never been steamed, the boiler is as-new.
Complete with a set of lamps (and the lead die block used to stamp out the caps), shovel, transfers and other odds and ends. One gear guard and the toolbox/running board are loose, to be fitted. Complete with a copy of the construction manual and a set of drawings.
A worthwhile winter project, the standard of build would repay stripping, cleaning and repainting the engine to make a good example of a popular model.
