A well-built old model of a traction engine, with proportions similar to Aveling & Porters of around 1920. Highly-detailed, the engine has a multi-tube coal-fired boiler, Stephenson's reversing gear and two speed road gears selected from the footplate. The cylinder is fitted with a displacement lubricator and rod-operated drain cocks. There is a working band brake on the rear offside wheel and winch on the nearside. Boiler water is fed by injector or handpump, which is hidden in the tender. The paintwork and lining are original, rather flaky in places.
The boiler has a current Southern Federation test certificate for 50 psi working pressure, issued in October 2001 valid for two years.
