An interesting older model of a Fowler three-speed compound road locomotive in 1 1/2 inch scale, apparently scratchbuilt and authentic to prototype (although the Allchin smokebox door appears to have been a pragmatic solution to finding a suitable casting).
Copper boiler with twin locomotive type safety valves, feed by mechanical pump. Cast iron compound cylinder with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser, governor fitted. Mechanical lubricator. Three speed transmission with winch fitted behind nearside rear wheel.
Running until recently, it was last steamed two weeks ago before coming here as part exchange against a 4 ½ inch scale engine. It’s well made and detailed, paintwork is worn and the rear wheels will need rebushing at some stage soon.
