When we first bought the engine it came with its original shell test certificate dated 11-August-2011. The certificate is now missing - not that uncommon in this situation - however we would warranty the boiler as sound, capable of passing a hydraulic test in future if required.
A 2 inch scale Burrell Gold Medal steam tractor, built to the MJ Engineering design by a highly experienced model engineer, the man responsible for, amongst other things, the Triple Expansion engine and McOnie oscillating engine recently listed.
The boiler was inspected during build and subsequently hydraulic tested at 240psi for 120psi working by the builder's club when completed, with certification issued for same.
Run on air during build to check valve setting, the engine remains unsteamed and in as-new condition. Since completion it has been kept for display in the builder's house on its purpose built wooden display stand.
Canopy lights are wired to battery boxes stored in the base, with slider switches for each side and front set of lights.
