The engine has recently come to us in part exchange for a locomotive. Started by one builder it's been completed by the previous owner who, having bought it part-built then painted and lined it - since completion the engine has been on display in his house, it remains unsteamed.
The silver soldered copper boiler looks neatly flanged and well put together with good solder penetration. On hydraulic test at 200psi pretty much every fitting leaked, however the boiler itself was dry and free from distortion - we would warranty it as sound although it will require re-test once the fittings have been sealed.
Work to complete includes making and fitting the Pickering governor and mechanical lubricator, and provision of an operating linkage for the LP cylinder drain cocks.
Complete with a copy of the comprehensive construction manual, along with some sheets of drawings.
