A 2 inch scale Burrell steam roller. It appears to have been steamed on a handful of occasions in the past, however it will require further commissioning work.
The commercially made CE-marked boiler by Western Steam has had a hydraulic test with new certification issued.
The engine turns over freely and runs on air in either direction - quite nicely, although with some leakage past piston and/or slide valve. The reverser doesn't engage the full gear slot in either forwards or reverse, which is either incorrect positioning of quadrant cutouts or too much throw caused by an error in the reverser lever/lifting link length.
All glands leak and will require repacking, the steam valves are ill-proportioned and appear to be of brass - we'd replace them with commercial fittings.
The gears all appear to be professionally cut.
A worthwhile project - steam rollers are rarely modelled in any scale; at this size they are an attractive proposition both for running and display.
