A 2 inch scale Fowler DCC Showmans Road Locomotive, based on the Plastow "Princess" design with much additional detailing.
Standard of workmanship is outstanding throughout, fit and finish of motionwork excellent. It appears to have been steamed possibly once from new, the front tube plate still shows copper colour at the edge.
Beautifully detailed, we particularly liked the sprung oil lamps; eccentric straps and rods all numbered; the belly tank with joddled and riveted front plate - harder to make than simply using a single sheet of brass, but authentic to prototype; exquisitely turned gear selector and steering wheel handles; dummy riveted throatplate with mudhole doors; neatly formed pipework and the dished steel cylinder end covers and cleading in polished steel.
We have made no attempt to test or steam the engine, however happy to warranty the boiler as sound - the engine runs on air, there's some video of it here.
Paintwork and lining are to a high standard. There is some minor paint loss of black to the hornplates and a couple of small areas of the crimson which could either be retouched or left as-is.
Complete with crane which fits to the rear of the engine, worked from the winch.
One of the finest Showmans engines we've had in any scale.
