A finely built 2 inch scale Shand Mason to Edgar Westbury's attractive but rarely-modelled design - I suspect many potential builders over the years have been put off by the complexity and wide range of technical skills required for its execution - from boilermaking and machining through to wheelbuilding and joinery, all, in this scale, requiring a high degree of precision.
This is an older engine, it has come from a small collection of high quality models which came in recently (including the "Lady Stephanie" beam engine currently listed, along with an excellent Stuart Major beam and magnificent professionally-built 7 1/4 inch gauge LSWR 0-4-4T which has taken up reisidence in the newly-redecorated library). It is unsteamed from new, built by a fellow member of the previous owner's club.
