A 3 1/2 inch gauge Baldwin 4-8-4 to Martin Evans' "Columbia" design - not an engine we get in that often but, rather like waiting for a bus, two have arrived with us recently one after the other.
An older engine, well built originally it remains in good condition. It steams freely and runs very well, notching up in either direction - there's a clip of it on the rolling road here. Water feeds and safety valves are all effective, the four note chime whistle sounds super!
The cab controls have been fitted with a set of extension controls, very useful given the length of the 12 wheel bogie tender.
