An ancient specimen of LBSC's "Bantam Cock", based on Gresley's V4 design for the LNER. Missing tender, smokebox door, running boards, much of the cab and handrails, this looks like yet another victim of the well-meaning "stripdown-prior-to-a-rebuild"...
The engine turns over smoothly enough, the right hand piston rod is unpinned from its crosshead, the left hand return crank is detached. Other than that, largely complete.
