An elderly electric-powered locomotive, in the process of having a new motor fitted. The infinitely-variable ratio friction drive is ingenious, the crank handle moves the friction wheel smoothly across the face of the driving disc on the motor.
I've described it as an electric engine (the motor inside gave me the idea) but Steve is convinced it started life with an internal combustion engine within. Looking at it again, I'm inclined to agree - in which case it would be nice to find some vintage engine to go in it.
