A venerable-looking old 3 1/2 inch gauge locomotive, bit of a Heinz 57 in design with bits of unrebuilt Scot, Black 5, you name it thrown in!
Superheated copper boiler, feed by axle pump and injector with auxiliary handpump in tender. Slide valve cylinders actuated by Baker valve gear, screw reverser in cab. Displacement lubricator mounted beneath the footplate with interesting looking plumbing (as in I can't see how oil gets to the left hand cylinder...).
At first glance somewhat un-prepossessing, the engine is obviously had a great deal of use over the years. However, the boiler tested ok and, somewhat to my surprise, the engine proved a decent performer on the club track. I've put it here on the projects page as there are still a multiplicity of little jobs to do (not least the lubricator plumbing!) but it's essentially a running engine.
