One of the nicest 3 1/2 inch gauge Atlantics we've ever had, based on LBSC's popular "Maisie" design although with modifications and added detailing for greater fidelity to the prototype. Finely made and painted, the engine remains in good condition throughout, the lined Darlington livery presenting very well.
The boiler has had recent hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued, we've fitted a new injector, the axle and hand pumps work efficiently.
The engine steams freely and runs particularly well in either direction. Disposing of it at the end of the day is made easier by a removable footplate which releases the grate to drop down for ashing out - a nice detail.
