An unusual model, a 3 ½ inch gauge version of Churchward’s 42xx 2-8-0 tank locomotive, built for heavy freight in the South Wales coal fields.
Work to date comprises a substantially complete chassis with gunmetal cylinders, valve gear fitted. Much of the platework is done, including side tanks, cab and bunker, smokebox is fitted. The silver-soldered copper boiler is well made, plates are formed neatly, there is good solder penetration.
We've had several projects and running engines from this builder over the years, an experienced man with over forty boilers to his credit.
Complete with a general arrangement drawing and some original builder’s notes.
