One of the nicest Hunslets to Martin Evans' "Conway" design I've had in, the work of a prolific engineer responsible for a couple of nice traction engines and a good 7 1/4 inch gauge "Bridget", he's currently splitting his time between a 3 1/2 inch gauge Stirling Single to the Clarkson design and finishing off a "Tich" that came in at the right price one club night.
Silver soldered copper boiler, 80psi working pressure, feed by axle pump and injector with hand pump mounted on the footplate - the injector is plumbed up to take its water from the tender. Slide valve cylinders with Stephenson's gear, pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator mounted on the offside of the footplate, driven from a return crank on the back axle.
This one runs really nicely - very quiet with well-set valves. Complete with a pair of fitted wooden boxes and the complete set of "Model Engineer" magazines detailing the construction.
There's a clip of the engine running in the worshop here.
