It's recently arrived back with us as part of a downsizing effort, good progress having been made in the last eighteen months - pictures opposite were taken in recent days, words below are from 2021.
A part-built 3 1/2 inch gauge Hunslet 4-6-0T to Robin Dyer's "Spencer" design, it's recently come to us in part exchange for a Great Northern Atlantic.
Work to date comprises a silver soldered copper boiler - a well-made thing, with neatly flanged plates and good solder penetration - along with erected frames, machined wheelsets and cylinders, platework including spectacle plate and water tanks, motionwork and valve gear components, and various other small parts.
Rather a rare model, we've only ever had one complete one in this gauge - that was back in 2015 - along with a magnificent 7 1/4 inch gauge version which sold a year later.
Complete with copies of the original construction articles.
