An attractive size, usefully larger than the "Alice" class Quarry Hunslets - the original engine was saved for preservation by the indefatigable Bernard Latham - a man responsible for saving a number of narrow gauge locomotives - who rebuilt it in his back garden.
In later years, the engine was sold to a syndicate at the Ffestiniog Railway, where it has lived ever since.
Drawings and castings are available from Blackgates Engineering, there are pictures of a "doubled up" 7 1/4 inch gauge Lilla that we sold last year in the archive.
