A well-made model of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway's "Lion" to LBSC's "Titfield Thunderbolt" design.
Completed in 1985, the engine has a professionally-built silver-soldered copper boiler by Alec Farmer. Twin inside cylinders with slide valves actuated by loose eccentric Gab gear, reversed from the footplate. The engine has been run occasionally on air for demonstration. It has never been steamed, in all respects it is a brand new engine. Complete with a length of show track.
The same builder was responsible for the triple expansion engine and Allchin traction engine currently in stock. He continues to build multi-cylinder aero engines (including a superb Bentley rotary), now well into his eighties.
