A finely made 3 1/2 inch gauge LNER A1 Pacific "Papyrus", built to the three cylinder Clarkson design and built using their castings. Bought by the last owner's father from Cherry's of Richmond in the 1970s and still carrying their plaque on the backhead, it's spent the last forty years on display in his house in Ireland.
Kept in a dry, heated house it is in fine mechanical condition, paintwork had gained a dull coating over the years - Claire, with a great deal of elbow grease and careful polishing, has revealed the original excellent paintwork, three shades lighter and ten times shinier than when it arrived! There are one or two paint chips missing which we haven't attempted to touch in, there is a small ding in the boiler cladding.
Boiler had had a twice working pressure hydraulic test, however the engine has not been steamed.
