The work of a highly experienced engineer, with a prolific output of locomotives in 3 1/2, 5 and 7 1/4 inch gauge, several of which have featured on these pages over the years.
A boilermaker of some renown, he built over thirty copper boilers for his own and fellow club members' engines before hanging up his brazing torch some years ago.
The locomotive is largely complete, the chassis has been tested on air. Runs well ahead, not so good in reverse - it needs the valves resetting.
Work, as ever with his locomotives, is to a good standard - machining is crisply done, platework neatly formed.
