The "Race to the North", held over two summers in the latter part of the nineteenth century, saw the LNWR's Precedents battle against the GNR's Stirling eight foot singles to provide the fastest service to Scotland.
A finely made model, the work of an experienced model engineer with several good locomotives to his credit, it was named after his grand-daughter. The commercially built copper boiler is by R.Chambers, it's had a twice working pressure hydraulic test with new certification issued.
The chassis turns over freely and runs on air in either direction with crisp exhaust beats. Apparently unsteamed in many years, the locomotive will require minor recommissioning work, including servicing the lubricator which currently makes three quarters of a revolution before stalling.
