A particularly well-made example of LBSC’s “Molly”
design for an LMS Jinty 0-6-0T, with a good deal of extra detailing including
dummy vacuum ejector and sanding gear.
Silver soldered superheated copper boiler, working pressure
80psi, feed by axle pump driven from the rear axle and hand pump in the side
tank.
Gunmetal cylinders, slide valves actuated by Stephenson’s
gear with pole reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator in rear bunker, driven
from return crank on rear wheel – this has broken the brazed joint and needs
repair.
Screw-down brake acting on all wheels, steam brake operated
from cab.
The engine runs well on air.
