A well-built example of Don Young's "Mountaineer", recently stripped and repainted by an experienced engineer who is now having a bit of a rationalise to concentrate on his collection of 7 1/4 inch narrow gauge locomotives. The engine hasn't been run in some years - whilst it is largely reassembled there is still work to do including overhauling a copiously-leaking regulator and reconnecting the smokebox pipework.
Silver soldered copper boiler, feed by twin injectors, twin axle pumps and auxiliary hand pump in side tank. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walschaert's gear with pole reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator.
