One of the nicest "Rob Roy"s I've ever had, built to Martin Evans' popular beginner's design based on a Caledonian Railway 0-6-0.
Silver soldered copper boiler with superheaters, fed by crosshead pump with auxiliary hand pump in side tank - the handpump is a very neat arrangement comprising a plunger pump vertically mounted in the tank, when not in use the plunger screws down into the tank top. Outside cylinders, inside slide valves actuated by Stephenson's valve gear with pole reverser in cab.
The whole thing is well machined and runs extremely smoothly. It has been test steamed but is in otherwise as-new condition.
