A 3 1/2 inch gauge "Royal Scot", partly dismantled for repainting. This model is believed to have been built six years ago. The motionwork turns over freely, the finish to rods and motion is indifferent, with some rebushing required. One driving wheel is loose and has, at some stage, been re-pinned in an effort to correct this. The boiler is of silver-soldered copper construction - one fitting on the backhead has been smeared with what looks like epoxy, possibly to seal it. The firebox is clean inside - it should be assumed that this engine has never run under steam, although the previous owner had run the chassis on air.
Overall length with tender is 48 inches, all up weight around 70 pounds.
This engine should be regarded as a "project", which has the potential to produce a handsome engine with careful rebuilding.
