A Stanier 2-6-4 tank locomotive to Martin Evans’ “Jubilee” design in the latter stages of assembly - there is a box of bits with it including front and rear bogies, grate and a few other bits and bobs. The engine has been run, as evidenced by muck in the smokebox, but it would appear only for test purposes.
Top
section of the rear coal bunker is a removeable dummy, made in card – fine for
when it’s on display and removed whilst running, although it wouldn’t be a
huge job to make up something similar in brass.
Commercially-built silver soldered boiler, 80psi working
pressure, feed by injector and axle pump with hand pump in side tank. Gunmetal
cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walschaert’s gear with pole reverser
in cab.
Paintwork is so-so, lining and lettering looks to have been done when the builder's guide dog was having a day off.
