3 1/2 inch gauge tank locomotive to the popular "Tich" design by LBSC. First described in "Model Engineer" magazine in 1948 as a beginner's engine, the fully-detailed construction series was later released as a book which, I think, every model engineer has read at some stage (and if you haven't, you need to - it's part of your heritage!).
Silver-soldered superheated copper boiler, 80psi working pressure, fed by axle pump and auxiliary hand pump in side tank. Slide valve cylinders with mechanical lubricator, Walschaert's valve gear with pole reverser in cab.
This is a well-made older model which runs very well - the motion work is in
good condition. The paintwork is functional, but could be re-done to make a
smart little engine.
