A well-made Vale of Rheidol 2-6-2T in 3 1/2 inch gauge - I don't know anybody who produces drawings or castings for such a thing, consequently these attractive "Swindonesque" engines by Davies & Metcalfe are very scarce in model sizes (although if you get a chance to go to the National Railway Musem at York, there is an absolutely superb 7 1/4 inch gauge specimen by Harry Powell, Roundhouse of course produce them commercially for gauge 1).
Silver soldered copper boiler, working pressure 80psi, feed by twin injectors and crosshead pump. Gunmetal cylinders with slide valves actuated by Walshaert's gear with pole reverser in cab. Sight feed lubricator.
The engine is in good order and runs well - based on a two foot gauge prototype, in 3 1/2 inch gauge it is as big as many 5 inch gauge tank engines.
