A finely made 3 inch scale Allchin, built to Hughes' highly detailed "Royal Chester" design, doubled up from the 1 1/2 inch scale drawings.
The engine appears to have been test steamed, possibly only once given the colour of firebox and smokebox. Both mechanically and cosmetically it's in ex-works condition - it runs beautifully on air.
Update - Ashley steamed it this afternoon, there's a short clip of it outside the works here. Steams particularly freely, runs very quietly. Only just stopped him taking it home for the weekend...
