A particularly good 3 inch scale Burrell, built to the Plastow design and complete with a handsome driving/passenger truck. Built to a high standard throughout, well painted and lined, the engine has lots of nice detail touches, from the planked floor of the manstand to the miniature vice fitted to the running board.
Commercially built silver soldered copper boiler by Cheddar Boilers, 100psi working pressure, feed by injector and mechanical pump with bypass. Twin Ramsbottom type safety valves, modified to pop-type action giving give reliable closing. Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear, mechanical lubricator. Whistle mounted on cylinder block.
Two speed, three shaft transmission with differential, band brake, winch behind nearside rear wheel with fairleads on tender. Rubber tyres fitted to road wheels.
The engine runs well, we had it in steam for a couple of hours recently - there's some video here. Complete with electric steam raising blower.
