A barn-find 3 inch scale Burrell, certainly the grottiest looking specimen I've seen in some years - it's very grubby indeed. Part-dismantled, the block has been removed from the boiler, along with the weighshaft brackets. We think it's substantially complete bar the smokebox door (although we've got the "Burrell" ring for it). Underneath the grime there is evidence of what was once quite a nice engine, built to a decent standard many years ago.
Steel boiler with welded tubes, feed by injector and mechanical pump. Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser. Mechanical lubricator. Two speed with differential, winch mounted behind nearside rear wheel with fairleads on tender.
