A Burrell 6nhp agricultural engine built to the Plastow design.
Professionally built silver soldered copper boiler by Chambers, feed by mechanical pump driven from crankshaft and injector. Slide valve cylinder, Stephenson's valve gear with pole reverser on footplate. Mechanical and displacement lubricators. Rod operated drain cocks. Two road speeds with differential and winch behind nearside rear wheel.
The rear wheels have been rather cunningly put onto rubber tyres whilst still appearing to be on strakes - blocks of hard rubber have been inserted between each steel strake. It's been well done and makes it very quiet on the road.
The engine came in as a part exchange when the owner went up to a 4 1/2 inch scale version of the same thing, it's in running order and has just had a new boiler test. There are various small jobs required on it - the pump eccentric needs taking up, the regulator leaks - but they are minor service items rather than a heavy overhaul.
