A well-built 3 inch scale Burrell, I bought it new some years ago from the builder - he was a retired engineer and tended to build in batches, there were four of these, six portable engines, four Gauge 1 LNWR Precursors; a productive chap. It lived in the builder's front room when finished, the chap who last had it did much the same with the engine - although it's been steamed a couple of times, the rubber on the tyres remains unmarked.
Steel boiler, working pressure 100psi, feed by injector and mechanical pump. Single cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear with pole reverser on footplate, mechanical lubricator, rod-operated drain cocks. Two road gears with differential, winch behind nearside wheel.
The engine has just had a new hydraulic and steam test, it comes complete with a set of drawings and firing irons.
