An exceptionally well made Foden wagon, the work of a
talented and prolific engineer he was also responsible for a couple of 3
inch scale Burrells and the superb
2 inch scale Burrell gold Medal Tractor I had in some years back.
He sold this engine in the 1990s, it hasn't been steamed in
recent years. We've given it a hydraulic test, the boiler is sound and the
engine runs well on air.
Silver soldered copper boiler, 120psi working pressure,
feed by injector, mechanical pump and hand pump mounted in the cab. Cast iron
cylinders, compound working with simpling valve, mechanical lubricator.
Crankshaft runs on ball bearing. Three speed transmission with chain drive to
rear axle.
The wagon has working brass headlamps and is complete with
articulated trailer.
Hydraulic test @180psi for 120psi working pressure, 29-Nov-2011
