We've had several "Little Samson" traction engines in over the years, in 3, 4 and 6 inch scales - all gone well, it's a particularly well-sorted design.
This one has recently come in as a part exchange for a steam wagon - a well-advanced build and nicely made thus far.
Welded steel boiler with exanded tubes, feed by injector and mechanical pump. Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear. Two speed, three shaft transmission with differential, winch behind nearside rear wheel with fairleads on tender.
