A large 3 inch scale traction engine, of freelance design although well proportioned.

Steel boiler with expanded in tubes, washout plugs at four corners of foundation ring, inspection plug in front tubeplate, removeable mudhole door. Two Salter-type safety valves. Water gauge with protector and blowdown cock. Water feed by mechnical pump from crankshaft and injector. Water lifter mounted on tender with hose and filter. Steel ashpan with separate cast iron firebars, as per full size practice.

Single cylinder with mechanical lubricator, slide valve actuated by Stephenson's valve gear with pole reverser on footplate. Two road speeds.

The engine has been run on air but is otherwise new and unsteamed. It is a large engine in 3 inch scale, similar in size to a small 4 inch engine.
