We sold this one back in 2015, it's just come back in with the Avery undermount traction engine as part of a rationlisation of the owner's collection of projects. Since last here the owner has had the boiler hydraulic tested, with club certification issued for same, as well as carrying out a good deal of work, including:

  • Broken boiler mounting bracket laser welded into place
  • Boiler tubes unblocked, then all tubes cleaned
  • Boiler internals descaled
  • Boiler tested and new x2 hydraulic test certificate issued (21/04/2019 ).
  • Boiler reassembled with new Kaowool boiler lagging fitted, cladding cleaned
  • New O rings on all 3 R A Barker clack valves
  • Regulator cleaned and reassembled using new PTFE washer and O ring
  • Blow down valve cleaned
  • Safety valves cleaned - need resetting before steam test
  • Water gauge cleaned and reassembled using new glass and O rings
  • Pressure gauge cleaned, red line marked, and gauge tested during boiler hydraulic test
    • Hand pump clacks cleaned
  • Injector cleaned, injector water valve serviced
  • New stainless steel fire grate fitted

A 3 inch scale steam wagon, based on an Atkinson but with conventional twin cylinder slide valve rather than the more complex design of the prototype.

Silver soldered copper boiler built 2002, 110psi working pressure, feed by injector and hand pump. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Hackworth gear, pole reverser, mechanical lubricator.

The engine has been running recently - last outing was running for three days at the Harrogate Show.
