The engine has come from the family of the late builder who, sadly, never got to enjoy the fruits of his labours. The engine is largely complete and, unsurprisingly, in as-new condition throughout.
The builder got started in miniature traction engines with a fine 3 inch scale Burrell which he bought from us back in 2004. Evidently impressed by his new acquisition, he started work on this 4 inch scale version, incorporating many of the ideas from the 3 inch engine.
The engine steams freely and pull strongly, there's some video of it running here. There are minor jobs left to do, including making and fitting gear guards, making a bar for the top of the dummy Ramsbottom style safety valves and adjustment of the parallel action firehole doors.
