He started out building a 4 1/2 inch scale Foden and, having enjoyed that project, went on to build a Burrell DCC road locomotive, single cylinder steam roller and this engine, all from the same manufacturer.
A man whose interest lay in the workshop rather than on the rally field, only the Foden was ever fired, the other three engines remaining unsteamed after completion.
The CE-marked boiler is pressed to 180psi, the engine running as a true compound.
Since arriving with us the engine has been through the workshop - the valve has been machined to provide clearance for the valve spindle, allowing it to seat correctly on the valve face; valve and eccentrics have been set, with the engine tested running in both directions on air.
Offered brand new and unsteamed, the engine will require commissioning before use.
