Boiler components were cut out and machined by the builder, before being welded together and hydraulic tested by well-known boilermaker Terry Statham of TRS Welding - it's complete with certification for material, welder and hydraulic test.
Unused for some years, it has recently had new rings fitted. Runs well forwards, somewhat reluctant going in reverse.
Transmission is by chain to a vintage gearbox tucked underneath the cab, thence by a second chain to the rear axle.
I can see potential in this one - despite some fairly agricultural engineering, overall proportions are representative of a Foden. Some new tinware for the bodywork, paint and a set of wheels would make a world of difference for modest outlay.
