Rather like waiting for a bus, you don't see a Great Western Railcar for years, then two come along at once!

Shortly after the 7 1/4 inch gauge example arrived at our works, this one in 5 inch gauge appeared, along with a pair of Autocoaches.

It's in running order, complete with a pair of 45Ah batteries of some age and unknown condition. The bogies are chain driven by one 24V motor each - the control board is not one we recognize, it has a basic handset providing throttle control, direction is set by a lever on the railcar itself.

Equipped with a sound card and speaker of execrable quality - you'd be better off having Spotify play some tunes from the shows rather than the synthesized motor sounds provided...

All that said an interesting, rather stylish machine.
