This one has come to us from the son of the owner, assembly had started many years ago before the decision was made to go into 16mm scale modelling, the locomotives in that scale being lighter to handle.
The project stalled after painting and before any assembly had started - not one of the builder's strong points, it's in an ideal state to strip the paint and start again.
Stored in the owner's garage, in less than ideal conditions, there is some light corrosion in places, although nothing that couldn't be recovered with a little elbow grease and some Scotchbrite.
As far as we can see the locomotive is complete and includes a file of assembly instructions and a copy of the original boiler certificate.
We don't get many of these in - last one was back in 2016, there are some pictures in the archive here. Maxitrak supply the same basic engine for both 5 and 7 1/4 inch gauge, it comes out as a large engine in 5 inch gauge - nearly a yard long and weighing in at around a hundredweight and a half.
