The work of a serial kit-assembler, this ModelWorks Black 5 runs on air but but is otherwise new and unsteamed - the builder's interest in putting the things together and painting rather than running them. Now on with a pair of Great Western 57XX pannier tanks from the same company (already having finished an L&Y Pug), time came for the Black 5 to make room for other projects in the workshop.

Silver soldered copper boiler, feed by twin injectors with auxiliary hand pump in the tender. 90psi working pressure, twin safety valves. Cast iron cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walschaert's gear with screw reverser in the cab.
