A 5 inch gauge "Britannia" Pacific, assembled from a kit with a variety of modifications and improvements to the original design, including all new boiler fittings, new safety valves and a full set of shed, works, name and number plates.
Silver soldered superheated copper boiler, working pressure 90psi, feed by twin injectors and axle pump with hand pump in tender. Twin safety valves. Twin water gauges with blowdown valves.
Cast iron cylinders with piston valves actuated by Waschaert's gear with screw reverser in cab.
The engine is complete with original build instructions and certificate for initial hydraulic test at 180psi. It hasn't been run in the last few years, but has been steamed in the past. The chassis rolls freely and runs on air.
The boiler has been tested this week by our boiler inspector - it is in good condition andhe has issued a new 180psihydraulic test certificate for 90psi working pressure
(By one of those strange coincidences, we've just had a 3 1/2 inch gauge Britannia "Iron Duke" arrive this week - as soon as it's been through the workshop I'll put some pictures up).
