A 5 inch gauge Stirling Single, an older engine recently repatriated from France where we believe it last ran around twenty years ago - for the last five years it's sat in the late owner's shuttered up house along with a large collection of other engines (most of which are now in the workshop here).
Silver soldered copper boiler, on visual inspection it looks well made and in good condition, a hydraulic test - fairly perfunctory given a badly leaking regulator - showed no leaks. From what we've seen so far happy to warranty the boiler as sound, but it will need a proper test once the regulator is sorted. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear, pole reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator.
The engine is grubby but after a liberal oil around ran on air in the workshop - goes well forwards, not so good in reverse.
