A 95% complete kit built 14xx tank engine, rather better put together than usual - it runs along freely and the parts have been fitted together with a degree of sympathy (typically if you don't fettle the bits as you go along on these kit-build engines, the end product is a completely locked up piece of machinery). Don't know what happened to the paintwork, I suspect the builder, exhausted from the assembly work, contracted it out to his local playgroup.
Silver-soldered copper boiler, working pressure of 80psi, fed by axle pump, injector and auxiliary hand pump in the side tank. Inside cylinders with Stephenson's valve gear operated by screw reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator fitted in bunker.
The pressure gauge, water gauge glass and sundry small bits of plumbing are missing.
The engine comes complete with all original paperwork including hydraulic test certificate, all assembly instructions and the original bill of sale. One of the better designs in the original range, it continues in production under the ModelWorks banner - more info on their website.
