The engine has come to us from the family of the late builder who thought that the engine had never been steamed. We suspect it has had perhaps one test steaming, but condition of paintwork, motion and valve gear is all pretty much as new.
The boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued. The engine steamed freely and ran very well on the rolling road in both directions, with crisp, even exhaust beats. Water feeds were reliable, the safety valves effective.
The original 0-100psi pressure gauge - not really suitable for a 90psi working pressure - has been replaced with a 0-150psi type.
A nicely sorted engine - it ran well, everything working as expected other than the steam brakes, which appear more decorative than functional!
Supplied with 12 months warranty and starter kit of coal and steam oil.
