Copper silver-soldered boiler with stainless steel radiant superheaters. Feed by twin injectors. Split leaded-bronze axle boxes, wheels keyed to axles. The rear axle is fitted with cannon boxes to keep ash from the bearings. Outside piston valve cylinders in gunmetal, Walschaerts valve gear. The cylinders are fitted with cab-operated draincocks and working automatic relief valves. The engine is fitted with a spark-arrester, as increasingly required for club running.
Another very fine piece of engineering from a small collection we recently purchased. (see the Pannier tank for more of this builder's work). A little-used engine, built in 1998 and in as-new condition. The engine comes complete with a purpose-built storage crate.
