Inspired by the project, he then went on to built a rather good steam outline locomotive based on the same chassis which we sold recently.
The boiler has had recent hydraulic and steam test with new certification issued.
The mechanical pumps work well, the injector puts plenty of water into the boiler although overflowing some water whilst doing so.
An older engine, it steams freely and runs - better in forwards than reverse - with some wear in the motionwork. There's some video of it on our YouTube channel here.
